February newsletter

Mel Racho

I’m trying to say that February was quiet at the space, but that might just be because it’s so far away at this point. The first few days actually had two events, a cybersecurity workshop by Mel Racho and then a massive clothing swap that had people trading and scrapping with each other all day long. Then the following weekend, there was a public art sharing of immigrants from Tibet and then a different group’s fundraiser party.

The following week, we launched the website ( unit2.club ) and our new membership program ( withfriends.co/unit_2 ). Please check these pages out if you’re interested in new ways to keep up-to-date with what’s happening at the space or if you’re looking for ways to get involved.

The rest of the month was a bit more lowkey, with a burlesque fundraiser for someone’s surgery and then our monthly installment of Club Kidz. This month, the money raised went to Freedom School, a project of Black Lives Matter – Toronto. Check out their website for more info or to pick up a copy of their beautiful, fun and educational workbook.
